Nigel Garrick Gales aka “Neno” was born on August 6, 1977 in Sacramento, California. He is the son of Gilda Harvey and Myron Keith Gales.

Nigel was educated in the Sacramento school district. Nigel was employed at Hewlett Packard as a quality control analyst supervisor. Nigel was known to family and friends as Neno. What is very clear is that he was loved by many and will be missed. He was gifted in many ways and what was very clear was the deep love and devotion he had for his mother, Gilda.

Neno was very smart even as a young man. He was a 4.0 student, could calculate anything in his head and was humble of his gifts. Neno touched many hearts because he was a loyal and devoted friend. He could set someone straight with few words and at the same time he was looking out for the persons’ best interest.

Neno loved music, electronics, sports, and hanging with his friends and loved ones. He loved his PlayStation and hanging out with his mother. Neno was filled with knowledge that he shared with anyone willing to listen. Again, he was always looking out for others. Whenever you saw Neno, he was together. He prided himself on being well groomed and respectful.

Neno worked hard every day. He didn’t like to sit idle. Maybe he would be working on his truck, installing TVs, hanging with Shaneka, the woman who had his heart, spending time with his mom or Jay. Neno loved to have fun and would always invite others to join in.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother Gilda Harvey of Des Moines, IA; father Myron Keith Gales of Sacramento, California; maternal grandfather Ruben Harvey of Indianapolis, IN; paternal grandmother Ida Gales of Sacramento, California; brother Keith Gales of Sacramento, California; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He is preceded in death by maternal grandmother Rosetta Harvey, uncles Ruben Jr. Harvey and Aaron Harvey. Great grandmother Onie Bell. Great uncle Bobby Richards. Great aunts Joann Hunt, Rachel Thompson, and Dorothy Pickett.
