Joseph D. Sills

Joseph D. Sills, 76, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015.

He was born January 6, 1939 in Ames, Iowa to Bill and Ellen Sills. He lived in Des Moines all his life and served in the US Navy. He was employed by the railroad and later worked in the maintenance department at Prairie Meadows. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed fishing and camping. Joe was a big kid at heart and liked spoiling his nieces and nephews with toys.

Joe is survived by his sister, Edna Thomas and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Donald.

A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Thursday, June 18, 2015 at New Life Christian Fellowship, 2409 SE. 6th Street in Des Moines.
