Dominic Armentaro

Dominic Armentaro, 88, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday, June 14, 2015.
Dominic was born April 7, 1927 in Livingston, Montana to Fred and Mary (Leta) Armentaro. He served in the United States Army during WWII, serving in the Aleutian Islands. On July 25, 1964, he married Virginia Mazzei. He had a long career with the U.S. Postal Service both in Montana and Iowa, retiring at 59. Dominic was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church where he sang in the choir. He was very musically inclined and played the bass fiddle in numerous bands and later played the organ.
Dominic is survived by his brothers, Louie (Donna) and Frank Armentaro of Livingston, Montana; in-laws, Helen Marie and Mathew Joe Carmosino; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 48 years, Virginia; sister, Theresa; brothers, Jim, Tony and Johnny Armentaro; nephew, Michael Carmosino; and his niece Camille Carmosino.
The family will greet friends Wednesday, June 17, 2015 from 5 to 7:30 p.m. with the Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 18th at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5711 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery.

I have lived at 519 Wall for 5 years and Dominic has always been such a kind sweet neighbor to have. I am so sorry for your loss. He will be missed greatly by my family and myself. He always had a smile on his face. I am truly sorry. Much love and prayers to you all. May God bless you.
