William Sheets, 83, passed away Monday at Mercy Hospice in Johnston. William is an Air Force Veteran of WWII.
William is survived by his wife, Norma; his children, Jim Sheets and Jane MacDonald; step children, Karen McDaniel, Ron Hancock and Judy Little; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren and his brother, Robert Sheets.
William was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret and a son, Jack.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, October 12, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens with burial at Altoona Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.

We can't say how sorry we are for your loss. Uncle Bill will be missed even though he is now a much better place. We are sorry that we can't make it back for the funeral, and want you to know that we will continue to think of you and pray for you as we have been these past weeks. Mike has some very fond memories of Uncle Bill and his "east side relatives" which he will tell you about sometime. We hope that the next time we are out to Des Moines, we can get together.
