Debra Walker-Carnes

Debra Walker-Carnes, 56, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015 at Kavanagh Hospice House.

Debra was born April 3, 1959 in Des Moines to Clarence and Kathryn (King) Sample. She was a lifelong resident of Des Moines and worked many years at Principal Financial Group. Spending time with friends and family was most important to Debra. She especially loved being with her boys and her grandkids.

Debra is survived by her sons, Jack Carnes and Michael Carnes; sisters, Joanie Brewer, Sheila Kelly, Diane Braden, Rhonda Carnes, and Dena Wright; brother, Michael Walker; grandkids, Ava Carnes and Nolan Carnes and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Kathryn Sample.

Funeral services will take place at 9:00 am on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines, Iowa.
