Laura Anne Brauer
June 02, 2015
Miss Laura Anne Brauer, Laurie, finished her earthly race strongly and swiftly with great peace and comfort from our Lord early on the morning of June 2, 2015 at her Mosaic Home in Des Moines, Iowa and entered in to the Joy of her Master. She had fought far more than a good fight against the disease that attacked her, never once complaining or crying, nothing but a fighter Always. She more than earned her crowns.
Laurie "OUR SWEETHEART" born on Saint Valentine's Day, lived her 52 years, 3 months and 19 days to the fullest. She would run to us when we would come to pick her up for outings, once knocking Mom completely to the ground. She would run for her shoes and backpack and tell everyone BYE! as she raced to the car. She Loved cruising around town looking at Christmas lights or any holiday decorations and listening to and singing as loudly as we wanted with Christian Rock, classic oldies, XM's 40's on 4 or Michael Buble' along with many other favorites. She enjoyed great food like grilled Salmon dinners with asparagus soup at her sister’s house or with her good friends at the Radish in Grimes. She was delighted with an occasional POP, crackers or Gummies. Everyone Loved her as much as she Loved them. If you were good she might blow you a Kiss or give you a hug. If you were not good she might say shame on you!
Laurie knew the Lord Jesus and Loved to sing unto him in Worship and Praise. She always led any group with her appreciation for the music and her enthusiasm for the performing arts. Always beginning the applause for any song well sung or an act from the performance.
Laura is survived by her mother, Kay (Roger) Pieper; sister/guardian Pamela (Glen) Massie; brothers, Lance Brauer, Bill (Stephanie) Brauer, and John (Theresa) Brauer; as well as her nieces and nephews, Emily Massie, Evan Massie, Mackenzie, Patrick, Liam and Everly O’Hair, Brendon Brauer, Blake Brauer, and Kayla Brauer.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Monday, June 8, 2015, at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors Sunday evening at the funeral home from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family in loving memory of Laura.

Kay&Pam thank you for allowing me to share in the life of sweet Laura. Her smile and excitement was a true meaning of love. Laura taught me a great deal. She is now singing with the Lord.

"Perhaps they are not the stars, but rather openings in Heaven where the love of our lost ones pours through and shines down upon us to let us know that they are happy." With that said, I just Know that Laurie is enthusiastically chatting away with all those that have passed before us, all she could not say in life, she now expresses in Heaven to our Lord and His Angels! She was a beautiful soul and will be missed greatly by all whom loved her!!!
