Rickey "Rick" Cortesio

Rickey “Rick” Cortesio, 62, passed away peacefully at Iowa Methodist Medical Center holding the hand of his loving wife Pauline on Monday, June 1, 2015. He was born August 7, 1952 in Rathbun, Iowa to Louis and Juanita Cortesio. There will be no services held but a celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Rick was very proud to have served in the United States Marine Corps. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing with his buddies. He was employed at Tone’s Spices for the past 21 years.

Rick is survived by his wife of 21 years, Pauline Cortesio; beloved cat, Sophie; siblings, Bill (Carol) Cortesio, Kathy (Dimitri) Papageoriou, Virginia (Lee) Fritz, Theresa Cortesio, and Michael (Cynthia) Cortesio; brother-in-law, Donald Perkins; children, Shannon Wright, Tina (Kevin) Halstead, and Kevin (Jill) Baldwin; grandchildren, Rashell Ball, Tracey (Travis) Bos, Cody (Alycia) Kenyon, Paige Baldwin, Piper Baldwin, and Quinton Willis Cortesio; great-grandchildren, Brenden Robbins, Jaylynn Kenyon, Addilynn Kenyon, Jocelynn Bos, and Holden Bos; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and beloved friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Carla Cortesio and Marjorie Perkins.
