Soukpinkham Norasing

Soukpinkham Norasing died Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Altoona Nursing & Rehab. He was born June 5, 1936 in the city and province of Oudomxay in northern Laos. He is the youngest of five children of Mr. Nhot and Mrs. Pin (three older brothers and a sister, all have preceded him in death.)

After he successfully completed medical school in Vientiane, Laos he was employed in the Department of Public Health as a government employee. Later he was sent to the city of Thaklet, Khammorean province to pursue his career. There he met the love of his life, Khotamy Phimpmasone.

In 1960, they married and had four children, three daughters, Ratsamy, Phetmany (Touy) Norasing, and Baounsthavy (Ma) Houngsakarl; and a son, Thatsany Norasing. They also have 3 grandchildren (two granddaughters and a grandson.)

They escaped to a Thailand Refugee Camp in 1984. In August 1986 they moved to Des Moines, Iowa, USA where they have lived since then.

A funeral service will be held 5 p.m. Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 Nw 60th Ave, Des Moines, with cremation to follow the service.
