Service Details
Theo James Hellmers died Sunday, May 17, 2015. Theo lived for two months and three days.
Theo loved dum dum suckers, whipped cream, Scooby Doo, and his binky. He liked taking naps with his daddy and had endless smiles in the morning. Theo knew his parents loved him dearly. He was so loved and will always be remembered as a ray of happiness.
He will be lovingly remembered by his mommy and daddy, Hailey McDowell and T.J. Hellmers; brother, Kaedin Hellmers; grandparents, Shawn (Jake) Clark, Jason (Jacque) Hellmers, and Amy Tomlinson; great-grandparents, Peggy McDowell, Cindy Mooers, Larry Mooers, and Marie Hellmers; aunts and uncles, Jenni Hellmers, Zach McDowell, Daniel (Tabitha Fast) Hellmers, and Jacob Hellmers.
He is greeted in heaven by his great-grandfathers, Albert McDowell and Neil Hellmers.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St., Des Moines with visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Thursday, May 21, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will follow services at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

Baby boy you at not be with us but ur soul defiantly lives on and all those little signs that we ar getting that your still watching over us is awesome and please keep going. Also tj and Bailey I know that losing my nephew was hard enough but I mean I can't imagine losing a son that I had in my stomach for nine months and then had another two months too connect with him but I mean at least we got that time we got the to love cherish hold and connect with him and should be thankful for that I mean that time was better than no time but I love that I am able to go and see him and I am now starting to bget able to talk about him more and not cry if I do it's not as hard but that will prolly end soon for I going to hopefully start going to a support group for grief and loss

I never got to meet your sweet little Theo but Kobey told me about him and things he was going to teach him. I am so very sorry and I grieve with you.

I am so sorry to hear of your passing. The world is cruel and makes no sense. I pray for your peace Hailey and TJ and everyone else as you learn to go on without your precious baby. He is gone way too soon. God Speed Theo.

Theo,
I will miss your sweet little smile for the rest of my life. I will always love you and I will always think of you. I can't explain why this had to happen, and I never will but I do know that you blessed us all in more ways than you know. We love you so much baby boy. You impacted my life in more ways than one.

I cannot express enough how much I wish this didn't have to happen to you, or to our family. I can promise you that I will do everything in my power to make you comfortable. I love you both more than I can explain. I know this is a tragedy, but I marvel in the strength I have seen come from you both. I will always be here for you.

I was saddened to hear of the death of your precious son. Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time. Also take comfort that Grandpa Neil is taking good care of Theo.

Theo I know that you didn't get to know me much but you meant the world to me. You would always suck on my finger all the time and your binky and my finger were always there. I love you so much and I wish I could do something to get you back and believe me if there was anything I could do to get you back I would even trade my life. I love you and you will always be in my heart.i will never forget you.
