Janet Brown, 79, passed away Saturday, May 16, 2015 at her home.
Janet was born October 26, 1935 in Des Moines to William and Violet Davis. She was currently working at Sears on Army Post Road, where she had been employed for 15 years. Janet loved cats and was an avid reader.
Janet is survived by her sister-in-law, Susan (Eugene) Seele; and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Franklin.
The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Thursday, May 21, 2015 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street with the funeral service following at 12 p.m. Janet will be laid to rest at Glendale Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Furry Friends Refuge in West Des Moines.

So sad to hear about the passing of Jan Brown. She was my father's secretary for 30 plus years, was always considered a member of our family. She was a loyal and loving person. RIP Jan.

I am so sorry to hear of Jan's passing. I used to walk South Ridge mall with her. I have also talked to her many times at Sears. Her and I were both Jan Brown's. I lost my husband, then I remarried and kept my Brown name and added Leanhart ( my now husband's name.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. Jan was a sweet person. Always had a smile for everyone. She will be greatly missed.

My deepest condolences to Jan's family. Jan was my good friend and weekly customer for 35yrs. Her beauty salon friends and especially me will miss her friendly personality and quick wit. I hope she's dancing with Frank in heaven right now.

Our deepest condolences. Jan was a special lady whom we had the honor of knowing and we always knew our Christmas card was from Jan each year before opening... there were always cat/cats on them. She loved her cats.
