Walter Urban

Walter Urban, 95, passed away after a short illness on May 16, 2015 in Des Moines. He was born on November 18, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Barney and Mary (Herkowski) Urban. Walter married Justine Orvis on November 21, 1942.

Walter was a WWII veteran serving in the US Coast Guard. He traveled the world as a consultant in the corrugated box industry. In his free time, he loved to read.

He is survived by his children, Russ (Irene) Urban and Karen (Bruce Warner) Nowadzky; grandchildren, Tom, Jennifer, Rob, Jill and Brooke; 7 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Dan Urban.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Justine; parents; and a brother and sister.
