James "Jim" Smith

James Smith, 95, died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at University Park Nursing and Rehab.

Jim was born March 8, 1920 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of George and Minerva (Slater) Smith. He proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army and worked his entire life in the movie industry.

Jim is survived by his second cousins, Thomas and Trudy Poston of Des Moines and Donna Mealey of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Milton, Louise, Mary, and Earl.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines.
