Ronald Jay Liles, 73, passed away May 8, 2015.
Ron was born March 5, 1942 to Jay and Opal Liles. He grew up in Mount Ayr, Iowa and graduated from Mount Ayr High School before moving to Des Moines. He worked for Des Moines Public Schools for 30 years before retiring. Ron enjoyed riding his Harley with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Karen; sons, Rod of Cherokee, IA, Rich of Rockford, IL, Randy, Donald, and Ronald of Des Moines; daughter, Rachel of Defiance, IA; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and sister, Iloa Wernli of Perry, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and four sisters.
A memorial visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 14, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family.
