Earline Ann (Layton) Elliott

Earline Ann (Layton) Elliott, 87, passed away on October 4th at Taylor House.

She was born May 12, 1920 to Earl and Anna (Strohschoen) Redman in Badger, Iowa. She graduated from Otho High School in 1938 and went on to graduate from Broadlawns School of Nursing in 1941. Ann worked as a Registered Nurse in the Des Moines area for 50 years. In 1941, she married James Layton. After being widowed in 1983, she married Raymond Elliott in 1987. He preceded her in death.

Ann is survived by her children, Joann Layton of Ankeny, IA, Jim (Pam) Layton of Mequon, WI, Jeff Layton of Ottumwa, IA and Jerry (Teresa) Layton of Westfield, IN; step children, Anita (Bob) Dietrick and David (Marie) Elliott; seven grandchildren, Kathy (David) Schettler, Nancy (Chris) Welsh, Taylor, Lynn, John, Megan and Jennifer Layton, and three great-grandchildren.

Ann has requested a graveside service at Laurel Hill Cemetery. It will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 5, 2007. Hamilton’s Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
