Jean Marie Eden

Jean Marie Eden (Dougherty), 64, of Des Moines, formerly of Massena, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015.

Jean is survived by three nieces: Kris Casey (Jim) and their daughters, Maureen and Molly; Rana Thomsen (Jeff) and their sons, Lane and Jace; and Kelly Mullen. She is also survived by two step daughters: Joan Osborn and her children, Allison and Aaron; and Julie Osborn.

Jean owned Banking Careers, Ltd. in West Des Moines before going to work as a bookkeeper at Moss Distributing, from where she recently retired. Jean loved her dog, Gracie, and spending her free time going to the casino, playing cards, and enjoying her music.

Jean is preceded in death by her son, Brett; fiancé, Steve Osborn; parents, Dudley and Grace Dougherty and Betna Dougherty; and sister, Joan Erickson.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held in Massena, Iowa at a future date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to the Dale Swift Philanthropic Fund, which helps local cancer patients with simple day to day needs during difficult times. Donations may be mailed to Trails End, 1600 N.E. 44th Ave., Des Moines, IA 50313.
