David J. Jones

David J. Jones, 65, passed away on May 1, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. He was born in Eau Claire, WI on September 5, 1949, to Robert and Jean Jones.

David attended Oklahoma State University and served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Roosevelt during the Vietnam War. David and his father founded Windsor Homes in 1989 where he was currently serving as President.

David enjoyed spending time with his family, boating, vacationing in the Ozarks, and antique cars.

David is survived by his long-time companion, Norma; daughter, Carolyn (Shawn) Miner; grandchildren, Allison, Claire, and Sam; father, Bob Jones; brother, Aaron (Julie Stevens) Jones; sister, Susan (Michael) Grozier; nieces and nephew, Nathan Jones, Kristin Jones, Gina Grozier, and Margot Grozier; stepson, Dylan Johnson; as well as a host of other beloved family and amazing friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Jones.

Memorial services will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. with visitation following until 4:00 p.m., at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue in Des Moines. A Celebration of Life will begin at 4:30 p.m. at the Polk City American Legion, 114 E. Broadway Street, Polk City, IA 50226.

In loving memory of David, memorial contributions will be received by the family and directed to various organizations at a later date.
