Ruth Senecaut

Ruth L. Senecaut, 83, died Monday, October 1, 2007 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St. with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Ruth was born October 21, 1923 to Jacob and Florence McFarlane in Hocking, Iowa. She lived most of her life in the Des Moines area and was an East High graduate. Ruth will be remembered as a gracious caregiver, and how she gave unselfishly to others with kindness, compassion and unconditional love.
Ruth is survived by her son, Richard (Janet) Senecaut; daughters, Donna (James) Hanson, Linda (John) Short and Melissa (Lennie) Quelland; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents: her husband, Raymond; daughter, Nancy; sister, Edna McCaughey; and brothers, Bill and Jack McFarlane.
