Bob Sauerman, 61, was born March 18, 1954 the son of Max and Virginia Sauerman in Des Moines. He passed away on April 8, 2015 after a terminal illness.
Bob owned Urbandale Amoco/BP for 26 years, as well as Sherwood Forest Amoco and finished his career at Hydronic Energy. The things most important to Bob were family, food, friends, music and having fun. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Bob is survived by his wife of 25 years, Sheryl; children, Max (Jovi), Melanie (Tom) Johnson and Jerome Johnson; grandchildren; brother, Steve (Viki); and a host of other family and beloved friends.
A celebration of life will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Overtime Beerhouse, 4810 NW 86th Street, Urbandale.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to HCI Care Services for all the kindness, compassion and care given to Bob.

A note from Gary @ Gary,s Standard, SE 14th & Army Post Rd. Bob was the first person to wish me well after selling my station in 1998. Lots of memories from all the Amoco meetings! He was a great guy & friend! My deepest sympathy to his Family!

Bob was awesome to work for back in the Old Sherwood Forest days! My neighbor Paul Newbern introduced us and he hired me on the spot! I'll never forget how he was always poking fun at no one EVER outselling me on Amoco Washer Fluid for the full service (and other) customers! According to Bob - no one would ever break my record, lol. I never knew he was a musician however - wish we could've jammed! Have a good trip, buddy! I'm sure Roxanne will show you the ropes!

I remember The Invaders, V.C. and the Rebels, playing softball at Woodlawn Park and being out in left field when Bob would come up to bat and knowing he was going to put over the fence again!
Thanks for your friendship and the opportunity to play music with you. I will miss you!

I played in a band with Bob in our high school days. He was a talented man. Hooked back up many years later. Bob, you will always be a fond memory in my heart. Love you and may you fly with the Angels.
