David "Dave" Green

David “Dave” Jacque Green, age 75, of Tucson, AZ and formerly of Bevington, IA passed away March 26, 2015 at Peppi’s House Hospice facility in Tucson, AZ surrounded by love and his family members.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2015 at 2 pm at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, IA.

Dave was born September 21, 1939 and lived in Des Moines for many years. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1958. Following graduation he served with the Marine Corp Reserves for 8 years. He also worked for Hy-Vee Food Stores for a short time and then for Reliable Carpet Co. learning a trade as a carpet layer which would be his profession for many years to come. He later was self-employed as owner of Dave Green’s Carpet Service.

On April 4, 1973 Dave married Judith Ann (Bebber) See and they were happily married for 42 years. They eventually left Iowa and have enjoyed living in several southern states including Alabama, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona. While in New Mexico, he and Judy managed the La Quinta Inn and then moved to Tucson, AZ where they managed Crescent Manor Retirement community for 5 years. For the past 11 years he worked for Pepper, Viner, and Shenitzer doing facilities maintenance.

Dave had a great love for books, and shared that love, and the books, with many others. He also was involved with Tae Kwon Do for many years and was a Second Degree Black Belt and an instructor. He inspired both of his sons, Kirk and Mark, to take up Tae Kwon Do and was very proud of their accomplishments. Dave also loved boating and had taught all of his children to sail and most recently was refinishing a sail boat with Mark.

He is survived by his wife, Judy of Tucson, AZ; son, Kirk (Jean Ann) Green of Des Moines, IA; daughter, Kelly Kokemuller of Des Moines, IA; son, Mark (Evelyn) See of Tucson, AZ; grandchildren, Brooke and Kevin Green, Robyn and Courtney Kokemuller of Des Moines, IA, and Rubi and Kenny See of Tucson, AZ. Dave was preceded in death by his fathers, Delaine Melbourne Richer and Bernard Max Green; his mother, Alice Ruth Green; father-in-law, James Bebber; and sister, Roberta Graham.
