Margaret Downen

Margaret Ann Downen, 46, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Carlisle Care Center.

Margaret was born on June 8, 1968 in Knoxville to Harry and Lorraine Bengtson. She graduated from Carlisle High School and received her degree in nursing from DMACC. Margaret worked as an LPN for over 15 years at the Good Samaritan Nursing Home. She enjoyed gardening, crafts and drawing.

Margaret is survived by her son, Jacob Downen, step-daughter, Carrie Swain; former spouse, Tracy Downen; brother, Ron Bengtson; sister, Sherry Iriarte; step-grandchildren, Dominic, Carter and Kayden; and a host of extended family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Bruce, Ray, Randy, Jimmy and Brenda.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church, 2566 Scotch Ridge Road in Carlisle followed by burial at the Carlisle Cemetery. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the funeral mass Monday at the church.
