Mary Jo “Picky” DeFino, 92, passed away at her home Tuesday, April 7, 2015.
Mary Jo was born March 19, 1923 in Des Moines to Anthony and Rosa (Soda) Colosimo. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She loved to cook and was devoted to her family.
Mary is survived by her husband of 68 years, Anthony T. DeFino; daughter, Rosemary Brady; sisters, Isabella Marturello and Rose Punelli; brothers, Dominic (Renae) Colosimo, Frank Colosimo and Charles (Carolyn) Colosimo; grandchildren, Brion Brady and Tara (Mike) Tomlinson; great-grandchildren, Ava and Ryan; and a host of extended family and beloved friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in-law, Tracy Brady; and her sisters, Angeline Colosimo and Josephine Cardamon.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday April 11, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue, followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Anthony Catholic Church.

I'm so truly sorry for your loss! My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. Mary was a sweet sweet lady and i loved her smile. She was my sunshine and will always be my sunshine. I loved her dearly and am so thankful I had the opportunity to know Mary and to get close to her. My prayers and thoughts are with the family and if I can do anything at all please let me know.
