Bill Collings was born June 24, 1931 in Des Moines, Iowa, the son of the late Walter and Frances (Cass) Collings. He went home to be with his Lord and Savior, with his loving wife, Donna, at his side, on Monday, April 6, 2015, at the age of 83.

Bill graduated from Lincoln High School and retired as a letter carrier from the U.S. Postal Service. He married the love of his life, Donna Lee Marley, on March 15, 1953. Bill was a member of New Hope Assembly of God Church. He always had a heart for leading others to Christ. Bill was a co-laborer for Jews for Jesus. He was a volunteer chaplain at the Polk County Jail and served on the Mission Board. Bill honorably served in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1973 during the Korean War. He then participated in the Army Reserves from 1973 to 1991. He retired as Sergeant Major from the Army.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Donna; sons, William (Lorna) and Patrick (Viki); daughter, Vicki (William); grandchildren, Camilla, Andy (Ashley) and Cindy (David); and great-grandchildren, Emma, Audrey and Max. He will also be greatly missed by his dog, Muffit.

Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., with funeral service to begin at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 10, 2015 at New Hope Assembly of God Church, 4425 70th Street, Urbandale, IA, 50322. Interment will follow at Powers-Warren Cemetery in Adelphi, Iowa.
