Franklin Fritz

Franklin J. Fritz, 65, passed away April 4, 2015, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Frank was born in Fort Dodge, IA on February 2, 1950, to Herman and Dorothy Fritz.

Frank graduated from Ankeny High School in 1968 and entered the United States Army. He was a proud veteran of the Vietnam War. Frank started working for BTI in 1990 as a truck driver, but most recently worked as a mechanic. Prior to his career at BTI, he worked for various companies as a truck driver – JCA Express, Albaugh Farms, and Track Masters where he also worked on the railroad.

Frank served on the Sheldahl City Council and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, attending bike rallies, collecting knives and guns, and feeding the cats in his neighborhood.

Frank is survived by his wife, Suzanne Fritz; son, Scott Moore; granddaughter, Allison Moore; great-granddaughter, Lily; brother, Delburn Carpenter; and a sister, Carol Rasmussen. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., in Des Moines with visitation beginning at 11 a.m. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. at Iowa Veterans Cemetery.
