Kirk Johnson

Kirk Duane Johnson, 49, passed away suddenly Sunday, September 30, 2007 at his home in Des Moines. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, October 5, 2007 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St.
Kirk was born September 2, 1958 in Des Moines. He graduated in 1976 from Hoover High School and in 1984 from Iowa State University. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, playing with his dogs, Boris and Nelly and spending time with his son.
Kirk is survived by his son, Cole (Jordan Karaidos) Johnson of Des Moines; mother, Barbara (Smith) Johnson of Polk City; sisters, Vicky (Rich) Rowe of Mesa, AZ and Becky Sue (David Niswander) Johnson of Des Moines; and two nephews, A.J. and Alex both of Mesa, AZ. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack D. Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

I am so sorry to hear of Kirk's passing, what a shock! I loved him so much and hoped his life had turned out differently. Cole you have had so much loss recently, I think of you so often and wonder how you're doing. I wonder how Boris will be, I'm sure he has a broken heart like the rest of us do. I'm hoping that many people attend the visitation on Friday to remember Kirk. I want you to know that even though I'm not there I am thinking of all of you!
Cole your dad loved you so much and he was so proud of you. It sounds like his last few years had been pretty rough. I'm hoping he is with Jack now and at peace.
I'll always be proud that I was a part of the Johnson family and I will never forget any of you.

i used to live in kirk's neighborhood on bowdoin and always found him to be very friendly please accept my sincerest condolences in your time of grief
