Vivian Hood

Vivian L. Hood, 89, passed away Saturday, September 29, 2007 at the Fleur Heights Care Center. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10am Wednesday October 3rd at Christ the King Catholic Church with burial following at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home from 5 to 7pm Tuesday evening with a rosary service at 7pm.
Vivian was born September 30, 1917 in Madison, Minnesota to Ann and Joseph Welter. She moved to Des Moines in 1929. She worked as a homemaker. Vivian was a long time member of Christ the King Catholic Church. She loved spending time with her family, enjoyed watching sports on TV and dancing in her younger years.
Vivian is survived by her grandchildren, Randy Hood, Tim Hood, Robyn Hood and Matt (Teresa) Hood; her great grandchildren Brent (Amanda), Amanda, Tyler and Maxim; her great great grandchildren, Caden and Kiya and her daughter-in-law, Lana Hood. Vivian was anticipating the arrival of an additional great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim and recently by her son Ron Hood.
