Jayson Alcorn, 66, passed away at his home in Ankeny on March 10, 2015. He was born to Donald and Harriett Alcorn on March 21, 1948.

Jayson was a musician’s musician. He was a self-employed musician his entire life from country to jazz. Playing praise music in church ignited a spark in him to worship and express himself in a new way. Aside from music, he enjoyed working on Alfa Romeo cars in his spare time. He was a true handy man, he always had a solution to the problem. He loved all animals and enjoyed the variety that visited his yard.

He worked at DMACC for more than 20 years as a computer technician to head of the department.

Jayson is survived by his wife, Julie Quick-Alcorn; daughter, Larissa (Joshua Brauwerman) Alcorn; grandchildren, Jadyn and Noah; nephews and niece, Andy, Timothy, Matt, Dan and Hannah; mother in law, Mitzi Quick, and sister in law, Jari (DJ) Sinnwell. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015, at Ankeny First United Methodist Church on SW Walnut in Ankeny, with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
