Arla Marie (Schrupp) Nizzi

Arla Marie (Schrupp) Nizzi, 85, passed away Monday, March 9, 2015 at Kavanagh on 56th.
Arla was born July 15, 1929 in Des Moines, Iowa to Arthur and Mable (Nelson) Schrupp. She was an East High graduate, class of ’47. Arla was a member of Grand View Lutheran Church. She was primarily a homemaker but also worked as a bookkeeper part time. She loved to travel, spend time with her family, and enjoyed playing cards.
She is survived by her daughter, Pam (John) Swenson; sons, Michael (Marilyn) Nizzi and Stephen (Kim) Nizzi; grandchildren, Tina Grover, Erik (fiancé Martina) Swenson, Matt (Kati) Nizzi, Chelsea (Cam Conrad) Nizzi, Libby (Matt Sheirer) Nizzi and Zach Nizzi; great-grandchildren, Kali, C.J., Cillian, Sonny and Auggie; and a host of other family and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Americo (Mick) Nizzi; and sisters, Ruth Lenox and Alice Welch.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 13, 2015 at Grand View Lutheran Church, 2930 E 13th St, Des Moines with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Kavanagh on 56th or Grand View Lutheran Church.
