Jay Shields, 82, passed away on March 8, 2015 in Des Moines. He was born on December 16, 1932 in Algona, Iowa to Truman and Hazel (Marvin) Shields.

Jay had a love of photography and jazz.

He is survived by his son, Phil (Carrie) Shields; grandchildren, Ian and Kate Shields; and stepdaughters, Angie and Tina.

Memorials may be directed to the Greater Des Moines Botanical Garden.

Per his wishes, cremation has taken place and no formal services will be held.
