David C. Barker, 58, of Des Moines, died at home Wednesday, September 26, 2007 of a heart attack. David served in the Army from 1969 to 1971. He attended DMACC college where he obtained a degree in Horticulture. He was previously co-owner of a landscaping company, The Forresters, and worked for the City of Des Moines at Glendale and Woodland Cemeteries.
He is survived by his two children, William Barker of Slater, and Kimberly (Roger) Fears of Ankeny; one brother, Garth Barker of Altoona; and one sister, Gloria Kay (Bruce) Wardenburg of Ankeny. David was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Barker; mother, Masel Barker; and brother, William “Gayle” Barker.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines, Iowa 50317. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 28, 2007 at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family in David’s loving memory.

I'M VERY SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS !!!!!!!!! I had the pleasure to work with Dave at The fair, he was very caring ! and from listening to him he Loved all of his Family !!!! my memory will forever be him sitting on the bench in front of the Des Moines register building eating his Mcdonalds breakfast sandwich, puts a smile on my face when I think of them mornings, I too hope his memory can bring a smile to your faces as well ! God Bless, and again I'm very sorry for your loss!!!!!!!!!!!
