James Dank

James Merle Dank, 82, passed away Sunday, February 15, 2015 at his home in Des Moines.

James was born February 25, 1932 in Des Moines, Iowa to Joseph and Mary Dank. He worked as a brick mason and was a member of Local 3. James was in the logging business, was a well-known antique dealer, and owned an auto restoration shop. He was active in local politics and was President of Four Mile Senior Citizen Association.

James is survived by his sons, Michael (Rebecca) Dank, Mark Dank and Fr. James (Susan) Dank; grandchildren, Seth, Rachael, Aaron, Adam, Leah, Samuel, Gregory, and Mary; and 18 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Jean and his granddaughter, Sarah Dank.

Services will be held Friday February 20, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting friends at 11:00 a.m. with funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
