Audrey Messerly

Audrey Messerly, 96, passed into the presence of her Lord Jesus at the Taylor House on Thursday, February 12, 2015.

Audrey was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother. She was a long time faithful member of Grandview Park Baptist Church. She retired from Sears over 25 years ago where she was a manager. Audrey took great joy in spending time with her family, gardening and flowers. She volunteered over 30 years at Hospice of Kavanagh.

Audrey is survived by her children, Joan Field, Jerry (Cindy) Messerly, Curt (Elsa) Messerly and Keith (Mary) Messerly; as well as 38 grand, great and great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Willard who died when he was only 11 years old; parents - Elmer and Hazel Barnes; brothers - Ray, Walt and Pete; and sister - Eleanor.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, February 16th at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave. Interment will occur at 1:15 p.m. at North Lawn Cemetery in Fort Dodge. The family will receive visitors Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Grandview Park Baptist Church Missionary Fund.
