Tracy Culbertson

Tracy L. Culbertson, 59, passed away at his home in Maui, Hawaii on February 6, 2015. Tracy was born August 8, 1955 in Des Moines to John and Shirley (Weeks) Culbertson.
He graduated from Indianola High School in 1973, where he was an avid athlete. Tracy received a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in 1977 from Simpson College in Indianola where he met the love of his life, Nancy Mazza. The two were married on July 2, 1977. The couple was blessed with a son, Dylan. Tracy was a wonderful husband and father. He loved spending time with his family and playing golf. Tracy was a Real Estate Property Appraiser for the County of Maui.
Tracy is survived by his wife and best friend, Nancy Mazza Culbertson; son, Dylan Gemelli; parents, John and Shirley Culbertson; brother, Troy (Kim) Culbertson; sisters, Trudy (Stewart) Messerschmidt and Tanya (Marty) Hall.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Terry Culbertson.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 15 Indianola Avenue followed by burial at Glendale Cemetery. The family will greet friends Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m. at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street.

Nancy, I only met your husband the day you gave birth to your son. I can only imagine that he had to be a great husband to keep you in his life all these years. Please accept my sympathies for your loss. You are a strong woman so try your best to stay strong and relive all your memories of your husband, many times that is the best medicine.
