Arlo Erskin, 93, passed away February 9, 2015.

Arlo was a long-time Des Moines resident. He loved his country and proudly served in the Coast Guard during WWII. Arlo retired from Meredith 30 years ago after more than 34 years of service, and enjoyed returning to Meredith with other retiree friends for lunch. He also enjoyed woodworking and volunteering his time and talents to Capitol City Church where he attended church for around 25 years.

Arlo was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Erskin, and is survived by his daughter, Sally Erskin and sister, Ina (Gib) Williams.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 14, 2015, at Capitol City Church, 5990 NE 14th Street in Des Moines, with burial to follow at Laurel Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.

Memorial contributions will be received by the family and directed to various missionaries and Capitol City Church in loving memory of Arlo.
