Evelyn Louise Kurtz, 77, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center from complications of a heart attack. Evelyn was born on December 13, 1937 in Osborne, KS to Maudie and Wallace Hahn. She married Paul Kurtz and was a homemaker and devoted mother to her own and the children she nannied. Evelyn enjoyed quilting, baking, reading, Bible study and was a faithful prayer warrior.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 60 years, Paul; children, Tim (Sidney) Kurtz, Michael (Cathy Carlberg) Kurtz, Cyndy Kurtz (James Eckels), and Linda (Christopher) Wilde; grandchildren, Zachary Kurtz, Nick (Amanda) Kurtz, Jens (Amy) Eckels, SoRa (Jay) Chapman, and Elinor Wilde; great-grandchildren, Henry, Ivan, Eisley, Maia, Gideon, Everett, Kaelin, Koren, Kyler, and Olivia; and her sister, Donna Darnell. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Warren, Arthur and Ronald Hahn; sisters, Nyla Emerson and Audrey Quillen; and grandson, Benjamin Eckels.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 2 p.m. at Westkirk Presbyterian Church, 2700 Colby Woods Drive, Urbandale, IA for her friends and family in Iowa. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, February 25, 2015 at United Christian Church, 209 North 1st Street in Osborne, KS with inurnment to follow at Osborne Cemetery.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, and your wonderful family, Paul. Though we didn't get to spend a lot of time with Evelyn, over the many years we have known her she was always such a gracious lady, smiling and full of kindness for those around her. We love you both, and knowing you has been a true blessing in our lives. May God's Grace sustain you through this difficult new life's chapter.

Nana--as I have always known Evelyn--was held in loving regard by our families (Harris & Pierce) for the love, patience and care she so freely gave to our children, Kristin and Ryan Harris (now 26 and 23). She will alway claim a special place in our hearts and memories.
