Betty Lou Carter, 76, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at her home in Des Moines.
Betty was born March 28, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to Clifford and Lucille (Goings) Barton. She retired from Farm Bureau in 2003.
Betty is survived by her husband, John; son, Raymond Miller; daughter, Rhonda (Rick) Roll; granddaughter, Jamee Sanders; grandsons, Ryan and Ryley Miller; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Mindy Roll.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Glendale Cemetery in Des Moines. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.

At this time of sadness may the God of all comfort, Jehovah be with your family. Psalms 147:3 says "He heals the brokenhearted; He binds up their wounds." I hope these words bring you strength and hope.

My love and prayers during this difficult time and for the days ahead. I pray that God will comfort each of you and ease the sorrow that you feel, and I share with you today. Betty will always hold a special place in my heart for the love and friendship she gave me over the years. She always had a way of making me feel more like family than just a friend. Besides her obvious strength and unconditional love, I will always remember her homemade cookies, and how everyone's birthday cake had to have the correct number of candles on it, no matter what your age :). She will truly be missed!
