Cynthia "Cindy" S. Mitchell

Cindy, 56, died Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines. She was born August 9, 1958 to Carolyn and LaVern Buttz.
Cindy worked at UnityPoint Pediatric Clinic in Ankeny. She enjoyed watching the Food Network and Hallmark channels, going to the beach and being the person who planned family events, but above all, family was most important to her.
Cindy is survived by her daughter, Alysse; her mother Carolyn; brothers, Tim and Michael; step sons, Dave and Mike; 2 granddaughters and 1 grandson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, LaVern.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines, with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Friends may visit with family from 5:00 to 8:00 pm, Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Judes Children’s Hospital in memory of Cindy.

To say she will be missed is an understatement. Knowing that in her passing she saved 2 lives with her organ donation is a true testament to her life as a nurse. She will save a place for her family and friends in heaven planning her next get together.
