Horace Milton Johnson, Jr.

Horace Milton Johnson Jr., 61, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with lung cancer.

Horace was born November 3, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa to Horace Milton Johnson Sr. and Mary Alice (Campbell) Johnson.

Horace is survived by his daughter, Ellie Johnson; his lasting love, Linda Powell; his brother, Timothy (Carmen) Johnson, Sr.; sisters, Debbie (Alton Sr.) Sterling and Patricia Knox; father, Horace M. Johnson Sr.; nieces and nephews, Bo, Tanika, Tim Jr. (Linnette), Michael V, and Shontionna; great-nieces and nephews, Desmond, Christopher, Calen, Acaja, Keano, and Andre; and a host of other loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Colbert.

Services will be held on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Family will begin greeting friends at 2:00 p.m. with a memorial service to start at 3:00 p.m.
