Dale Brown
February 02, 2015
Dale Brown passed away at his home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, February 1, 2015.
Dale was born on August 28, 1940 to Clarence and Julie (Jackson) Brown in Des Moines. He graduated from Lincoln High School in 1958 and was active with the Lincoln alumni helping to coordinate his class reunions. Dale retired as an electrical technician from MidAmerican Energy in 1995 after 24 years of service. He enjoyed attending his two weekly breakfast clubs, one with the MidAmerican retirees and the other with his Lincoln classmates.
Dale loved being outdoors, working in his yard and walking at Gray’s Lake. In his younger years, he enjoyed making birdhouses, birdfeeders and remodeling his home. If he couldn’t be outdoors you would find him in his workshop or on his computer. Dale also loved traveling and his beloved cat Ollie.
Dale is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores “Dee”; his children, Sheri (Greg) Blaylock and David Brown; granddaughters, Kristen and Danielle; great-grandchildren, Gracie and Max; and other loving family and friends.
The family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street. A memorial service will be held at noon on Friday, February 6th at the funeral home. A private burial will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be directed to Des Moines Metro Hospice.

One of the nicest persons I have known in my life. I am sure he will be greatly missed by you all. It was so nice to have had you share pictures of your family on FACEBOOK. Dale never seemed to change in appearance. I have known him since grade school. Thoughts and prayers go with you all.

To the family of Dale. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. May you find comfort with Psalms chapter 46 verse 1 that reads, "God is our refuge and strength, A help that is readily found in times of distresses." This is quoted from the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures.

Our condolences to Dee and the family. Dale was a good man, We first met in 1945, went to school together as well as Boy Scouts. I have never heard a negative comment about Dale. We had some good laughs over the years, especially when his car went into the pond. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND.

We love him and will miss him. I remember so many good times we had as kids. He was fun and liked to laugh. He always kept his Studebaker clean as a whistle. He and Larry took a unexpected dip in one of water works ponds. He was a good man and had a good life. I will miss his laugh. Jack
