Donald Eckardt

Donald K. Eckardt, 75, of Houston, Texas passed away Saturday, September 22, 2007.
Don was born February 5, 1932 in Des Moines. He retired from CIGNA Insurance Company following 34 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, an active member of Prince of Peace Catholic Community for 29 years and was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Rita Eckardt; sons, Mark A. Eckardt, Todd C. (Valerie) Eckardt; daughters, Deborah A. Eckardt, Stephanie A. (Steve) Buchanan; grandchildren, Alia, Claire, Luke, Maeve, Nathaniel, and Destinee, and many other family members and dear friends.
Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery, 1 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines. Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2007 at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Ave., Des Moines.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to The Houston Area Parkinson Society, Vitas Hospice or Prince of Peace Catholic Community.
