Maxine Jensen Gillihan, 84, passed away Sunday, January 25, 2015 at Fleur Heights Center for Wellness and Rehabilitation.
Maxine was born July 30, 1930 in Adel, Iowa to Herman and Nora Jensen. She grew up in DeSoto, Iowa. Maxine retired in 2012 from Little John’s Burgers where she had been a waitress for over 34 years.
Maxine is survived by her children, Toni (Max) Devore, Darrell Gillihan and Debra McKee; brother, John (Millie) Jensen; sister; Virginia Albert; grandchildren, Michele Elnour, David (Wendy) Meyer and Joe (Holly) Devore; great-grandchildren, Jacob, Amia, Paige, Selena, Chase, Yusif, Jimmy and Mason; great-great-grandchild, Drake; and a host of extended family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Alfred; a brother; and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015 at Hamilton’s Southtown Funeral Home, 5400 SW 9th Street followed by burial at Fairview Cemetery in DeSoto, Iowa. The family will greet friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
