Mike was one heck of a guy. Always had a smile on his face no matter the situation. I got to know him when I worked at American. If I was having a bad day and I saw him, it seemed he always changed my day for the better whether if it was a joke or just willing to listen.

Mike was my neighbor, great friend, classmate, and much more. He put up hay with my dad at our farm and we had such a great time. I will treasure the memories. He was a handsome man and quiet soul. I remember the horses and ponies at his farm. I remember what a great drummer he was. I did not get a chance to see him since high school, but recently located him on Facebook and he seemed so happy to reconnect and happy about the recent purchase of the new motorcycle. I hope he can rest in peace now with happy trails ahead. My prayers and love are sent from me in Ohio to all of you in Iowa.

Mike was the biggest teddy bear I've ever known, i don't think I've ever seen him angry or mad once in all the years i knew him, but what i did see was amazing, the man reached out to everyone he met with an open heart and genuine friendship, that's hard to find these day's; they don't make em like that anymore I'll miss him , but ill never forget him, what a gift he was from God, now he's home again waiting to meet us all again someday,

My heart continues to ache as I hear from all that love him so much. I've known Mike since diapers. Our families grew up together, such fond memories of our saddle club days too. Mike was not only a friend, but a classmate, voted best looking if I remember correctly :) he was always so friendly and had a smile that outshined the sun. I'm sure he has touched so many on this earth with his friendship and love, I pray he has found peace and we will meet again. Dave and I always enjoyed his company and laughter. The heaven's will be that much brighter with his smile there. Love to all his family and friends. Peace be with you all.
