Christine Duplantis

Christine Duplantis, 79, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at Greater Love Church of God in Christ with burial at Glendale Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon St..
Christine was born May 24, 1928 in Napoleonville, Louisiana to Leonard and Mary Castine. She retired from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. after several years of service. Christine enjoyed cooking, Gospel music and visiting with family and friends.
Christine is survived by her daughters, Juanita Duplantis and Melody Duplantis; son, Everett Duplantis, Jr.; brother, Thomas Castine; six grandchildren, Chantell, Christina, Monisha, Myneka, Meltisha and Mantez and five great-grandchildren, Makaiyo, McKenna, Kenny, Kamari and Tyneka. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Duplantis, Sr.; granddaughter, Lacresia Crawford; brothers, Leonard, Lloyd, Lilius, Lawrence and William Castine; and sisters, Eliza Dorsey and Josie Mae Bennett.
