Toni J. Burgess, 70, was born May 9, 1944, to Lester and Ruth Monaco in Des Moines. She passed away at Taylor House on Wednesday, January 14, 2015.
One of Toni’s greatest passions was spending time with her family and grandchildren. She was the sweetest, most caring person anyone could know. Toni will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Toni is survived by her children, Anthony Burgess and Angela Murphy; grandchildren, Brandon Murphy and Hailey Burgess; her dogs, Gladys, Einstein and Gizmo; siblings, Vivian Warburton and Monty Monaco; sister, Virginia Conklin who passed away one day after Toni; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 12:00 p.m., on Monday, January 19, 2015, at Hamilton’s near Highland Memory Gardens, 121 NW 60th Avenue, Des Moines, with burial to follow at Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Sunday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.

I knew Toni for many years and I will never forget the laughs the we shared and her sense of humor was a rare treasure! Thank you God for sharing her with us even for a little while.
