Ed was a wonderful person who loved the East Side of Des Moines and because of him Altoona and other area communities are better places to live and work. I worked with Ed to bring Prairie Meadows to fruition and have always treasured those days. My condolences to Lois and Ed's children, to Alden and his children and to all of those who knew and loved Ed. RIP, Ed.

Its hard. Ed was my hero. He helped to raise me and make me what I am. I was proud to call him my law partner. We shared so many things over the years that few would ever know. He never met a person that couldn't count on Ed to help them. His family is my family and I feel so much for them right now. I know right now he is up there with his and my parents taking care of them and all his other friends.

Dear Lois, Geri, Bradley and Julie, Please accept our sincerest sympathy for your loss. Ed became a dear friend and confident during an unusually difficult period of time in my life. I loved working with his "no nonsense, get it done attitude". I enjoyed it when he would say 'let me tell you son" which was his way of endearing you to him. He will be missed... as a true stateman in Iowa, a father, a grandpa, and a dedicated husband. I learned so much from Ed and will miss him. He is in God's hands now. God bless you Lois.

Lois and family, so sorry to learn of Ed's passing but happy to see he is being burried in Runnels, as he will be going home. We believe that life is all about the lives we have an impact on and Ed certainly had that for us. We shall never forget or cease to be thankful for your families contributions to our success in business in Altoona. It has been a pleasure to know your family. God bless you all in this time of sadness.
