Ronald B. Johnson, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior on January 8, 2015 at Taylor House Hospice. Visitation will be held Monday, January 12, 2015 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Hamilton’s on Westown Parkway, 3601 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, and the funeral service at Willow Creek Baptist Church, 720 Army Post Rd in West Des Moines on Tuesday, January 13 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
Ronald was born in Letcher, SD and lived in the Des Moines area since 1965. He retired from the Iowa foundation for Medical Care and worked at Mercy Hospital Medical Center and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Iowa.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley “Ann”; son, Dan (Teresa) Johnson and their children, Hunter and Kyle all of West Des Moines, IA; daughter, Amy (Travis) Samo and their children, Alex, Leah and Luke all of Des Moines, IA; his brothers, Hurley (Alene) Johnson of Huron, SD, Charles (Joy) Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD, Leo (Shirley) Johnson of Granbury, TX; sisters, Jewel Eppendanz of Stickney, SD, and Roseline (David) Wadleigh of Mount Vernon, SD. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, Harvey and Mary Johnson; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Delbert (Betty) Johnson, Merle (Darlyene) Johnson, and Norman (Evelyn) Johnson; and brother-in-law, Raymond “Skip” Eppendanz.

Ann, Dan and Amy,
