Kirk Wesley Garlock, 41, passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015. He is survived by his wife, Heather; children, Destinee and Kolton; parents, James and Linda; sister, Robin (Doug) Clifton; nine nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Lynette (Brad) Groenenboom and Kim (Dave) Medrick; and father and mother-in-law, Bob and Vicky Manley. Kirk was a family man and a man of strong faith. He loved his family and his church family dearly and will be missed by all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Christian Life Assembly, 9001 Fleur Drive, Des Moines. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to his church or to Children and Families of Iowa.

Jim, Linda and family...Nothing will take away the pain. Nothing will make it better but we do have to thank God that we had our loved ones for as long as we did. Our memories and the time we shared with them is precious. Take care of the children...Hugs to all.

I'm so very sorry for the loss of such a great man. The kind words he always had to say were enough to bring a person out of any dark space. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in his family, and I hope that his children and wife know how much they were truly loved by Kirk. You were the light in his eyes.
