Norma Jean Fiser, 69, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She joins her husband, Jim, who precedes her in death.

Norma was born June 15, 1945 in Des Moines, Iowa to Ross and Dorothy (Warren) Wimber. She loved being a grandma and a great-grandma and spending time with her family. Norma enjoyed being outside with Mother Nature doing yard work and snow blowing. She liked watching the birds and the squirrels. She spent time fishing, bowling on Friday nights, and liked going to Prairie Meadows to bet on the horses and play the slots with Jim. Norma loved her dogs and enjoyed watching her favorite television show, Dawg the Bounty Hunter, especially at 4:00 a.m.

Norma is survived by her daughters, Pam Cochran and Shelly “Misty” (Andy) McHugh; four grandchildren, Mackenzie McHugh and Dustin, Dann and Dakota Cochran; three great grandchildren, Drake and Nicholas Cochran and Levi Johnson; sister, Pat (Ron) Owens; estranged sister, Donna (Eddie) Boggs; and many loved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Larry Wimber.

Family will begin greeting friends at 1:00 p.m., with funeral service to start at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. A private family burial will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery at a later date.
