Doris Janet (Aust) Hill, 70, passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa. Her memorial service will be held at Staves United Methodist Church, 2747 E Madison Ave, Des Moines at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, January 10, 2015. Family will begin greeting friends at 1:00 p.m., prior to the service.

Doris was born August 10, 1944 to Helen and Rosswell Aust, who precede her in death. Survivors include her husband of 50 years, CW02, USA retired, Leland Hill; sons, Lane (Johanna), Lawrence, Leonard Gy Sgt USMC (Ret); daughter Deborah (Chad) Swigert; grandsons, Travis and David Giles, Parker Swigert, and Samuel Hill; granddaughters, Mattison, Ella and Chloe Hill and Isolde Swigert; and great-grandsons, Andrew and Kash Giles and Brian Lee Jones. Also surviving are her brothers, David (Pat) and Martin Aust; sister, Lois Riekens; mother-in-law, Dorleece Hill; grandpuppies, Gia Love, Baby, Dallas, Sophie and Captain Nemo; grandkitties, Dr. Watson and Paws; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and special friends and many relatives on the west coast. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Dianne Aust.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Children’s Nursery Program at Staves United Methodist Church in Doris’s name.
