Margo Charter

Margo J. Charter, 61, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her home in Des Moines.

Margo was born November 23, 1953 in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Bobby and Marjorie Pierce Charter. She graduated from East High School and was a member of Rainbow Girls, Scarlet Singers and Sylva Snook Vocal Studies. Margo loved to sing! She was a caring and loving person who was a gift to the world. She was always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand. She had a huge heart and was “Mom” to everyone. She always saw the positive in everything and everyone and welcomed all into her home.

Margo is survived by her children, Joshua Charter and Michelle Lovewell; grandchildren, Anthony Charter, Mielynn Charter, Joseph Lovewell, Arabella Lovewell, Alyssa Bailey, Tyresha Cratty and Cameron Charter; sister, Ellen Turner; niece, Gail Turner-Stanton; nephew, James Turner; and a host of other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Charter.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Hamilton’s Funeral Home, 605 Lyon Street, Des Moines. Funeral service will be 9:00 a.m. Monday, January 12, also at Hamilton’s, with burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery.
