Charles Dale Boston was born May 2, 1937, in Humeston, Iowa to Homer and Alpha Boston. He passed away Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the age of 77 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Charles grew up in rural Wayne and Lucas counties, graduating from Lucas High School in 1955. After graduating, he moved to Des Moines where he held many different jobs, eventually retiring from Fawn Engineering, where he was very active in the UAW. He worked for NPI as a security guard until his health began to decline in 2011.
Charles married Joyce Murphey on May 30, 1969. To this union, two children were born – Terri Lynn and Timothy Dale. They later divorced.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Alpha Boston; his brother, Marvin Boston, Sr.; and one great-grandchild.
Charles is survived by his children, Terri (Darrell) Green of St. Peter, MN and Timothy (Joy) Boston of Bemidji, MN and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Glenys (Albert) Wheeldon of Des Moines and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
According to Charles’s wishes, cremation has occurred and there will be no services held at this time.

I understand your Dad came into the church in April of 1995. There will be a mass said in his honor, remembering him on his birthday on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015 @ 8:30 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church - 15 Indianola Road DSM Ia. May his soul and the souls of the faithful departed thru the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Chuck was a dear friend and will truly be missed! He was very good to me and my two children. I have many memories of fun times with Chuck. He especially enjoyed eating out at the truck stops where the food was great! I will not forget you my friend Chuck! Love you,
